Approaching The Finale!
We have entered the last phase of the first edition of the Karel van Eerd Music Award, the Live Concert Finale! 31 bands did their best to collect as many votes as possible and it showed! The votes flew in from all over the world and in huge numbers. These votes combined with the jury’s score resulted in six finalists. Take a look at the finalist’s band profiles on the bands ’21 page!
The preparations for the finale on March 13 are in full swing. The finalists will showcase their talent in front of the jury and a small audience. Each band will bring their own style to the table which promises an interesting and exciting day. It will also make the decision of who will win the Grand Prize and go on a European tour quite difficult. The finale will take place at our own ‘Content Factory’ in Breda.
The bands Guy Salamon Group, Kruidkoek, Ryan hanseler Trio, The Friend Seven, The New York Second and Time Will Tell, will each perform an act of 30 minutes. With this act they will try to convince the jury that they should be winning the very first Karel van Eerd Music Award. The winner will be picked on musical quality, performance ability, and sheer entertainment factor. At the same time, the registrations for the second edition of the KVEMA have already opened.
This edition bands will again be competing for the same prizes however, this time the finale will be even more exciting. The Live Finale will be held at Podium Azijnfabriek in ‘s-Hertogenbosch on June 2, 2022. In an exciting collaboration with the festival Jazz in Duketown, the finalists will also perform on one of the stages the next day. Jazz in Duketown is the largest free jazz festival in the Netherlands, with more than 150,000 visitors a year. Nationally and internationally renowned musicians perform here on June 3-6 and this year also the finalists of KVEMA!
Registering for the next KVEMA can be done until March 31, 2022!
