10 year old Michael Varekamp discovered a Louis Armstrong recording among his dad’s record collection. Fast forward: 10 years later he graduates with honors at the The Hague Royal Conservatory as a Jazz trumpetist. He proved to be an extremely versatile musician, producer and radio show host. He has shared the stage, all over the world, with many greats. Michael’s dedication, good taste, musical skills and talent for showmanship has proven to be a successful mix for a great career of many years and counting. It’s that mix we feel should be in the tool kit of the Karel van Eerd Music Award winner.
