The Grand Prize:

“Sons of Freud's Wife is a six-piece international, compelling band that was funded around its member's love for the music of Jazz Idiom, Charles Mingu's. The Sons will leave you with a full heart and a dancing soul through its In-your-face, chaotic and humorous musical attitude and appearance on stage.” During the finale they did exactly this and that is why they have won the Grand Prize.

James Martin Band

With a mixture of original material and some classics, the James Martin Band is a high energy contemporary New Orleans Jazz/Funk Band featuring some of the New Orleans’ top next-generation talents. During the final they definitely convinced every one of these talents. The jury felt that the performance contained so much energy that after a few numbers they would have preferred more variety. That is why they were awarded the Jury Prize to help them find the right balance.

The Individual Prize:

Steven Glenn

Steven Glenn won the individual prize by convincing the audience and jury during his performance with the James Martin Band. He stood out from the band at the back of the stage and demanded everyone’s attention with an amazing solo. He will receive an Artist Support Package to help accelerate his European career!

James Martin Band

James Martin band was one of the four finalists at KVEMA. The winners of the Jury Prize of the Karel van Eerd Music Award. Performed at Jazz in Duketown, Podium Azijnfabriek, Den Bosch. A great jazz band from New Orleans, USA. With jazz artists; James Martin (saxophone and vocals), Steven Glenn (Sousaphone), Walt Lundy (Drums), Max Bronstein (Guitar), Beck Burger (Keyboard).

Matthijs Geerts Band

One of the four finalists at KVEMA. Played at the finale of the Karel van Eerd Music Award at Jazz in Duketown, Podium Azijnfabriek, Den Bosch. A great jazz band from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. With jazz artists; Matthijs Geerts (piano/keys), Jesse Schilderink (Saxophone), Thomas Pol (Double Bass), Davy Andy Henket (Drums), Michiel Stekelenburg (Guitar).

Sons of Freuds wife was one of the four finalists of KVEMA. The winners of the Karel van Eerd Music Award; Sons of freud’s wife. Taken at the finale in Podium Azijnfabriek, Den Bosch during Jazz in Duketown. They are a great jazz band with the great jazz artists / jazz musicians: Aviv Noam (Saxophone), Samuele Ghezzi (flute/voice), Charalampos Chronis (trombone), Oscar Ployart Wetche (piano), Omer Govreen (Double Bass) and Yoad Shashe Korach (Drums).

The Fried Seven was one of the four finalists of KVEMA. The previous winners of the Jury Prize of the Karel van Eerd Music Award. A great jazz band playing contemporary jazz at the Finale at Jazz in Duketown, Podium Azijnfabriek, Den Bosch. With jazz artists / jazz musicians; Poblo Castillo (Trompet, Corner), Pepijn Mouwen (Alto Saxophone), Marti Mitjavila (Clarinet + Tenox Saxophone), Matteo Paggi (Trombone), Cem Karayalcin (Banjo + Acoustic guitar), Simon Osuna (Contrabas), Carlos Ayuso (drummer).
